As a young black woman working in a predominantly white male lead space, I have struggled with being the only “black voice” in a room and clear tokenization. Sabrina and her colleagues have taken time to highlight racial inequities and biases that permeate the very structure of my organization. On a personal level Sabrina actively made safe spaces for myself and other women of color to move forward on our DEI journeys. She took time to have one on one meetings to discover what struggles I had both professionally and personally, always encouraging me to strive for more than even I thought I could achieve. These gentle pushes reminded me of my value within my organization and the larger landscape of philanthropy. They also opened new doors on my career path that I would have previously assumed were out of my depth. I’m grateful for Sabrina’s coaching, kindness, and support.

I have known Sabrina Coleman for over 13 years, and during those years, she has been a dear friend, mentor, coach and confidant. Whenever I’m at a crossroads and need to make big life decisions, I request her advice. Sabrina’s professional experience in strategic analysis enables her to clearly evaluate situations and provide useful and thought-provoking insight. This also gives her an ability to dissect matters and give it to you straight (no chaser). This mixed with her incredible sense of compassion makes her truly unique and totally trustworthy. Her personal approach to life has been a powerful example of the change she is trying to evoke in others and a testimony to the rewards of living in your purpose.
